In 2020, the world was afflicted by the Covid-19 virus. As a result, hardship was faced by all but most extremely by the poor. In response to this situation, NMT distributed about 1000 packets of food to nearby villages in Deoghar, Purulia and in Bitara. Below are pictures of the food distribution carried out so far. In Deoghar, the food was distributed to children' families of three schools - the Nirban Math Balkendra, Ramkrishna Mission Balkendra and a school run by Inner Wheel Deoghar.
Each family received a package containing rice, daal, chana, cooking oil, soap, cookies etc sufficient to last 1-2 weeks.
Further rounds of distribution are being planned.
