Bitara is the birthplace of Brahmajna Ma and where she spent the early period of her life marked by deep Sadhana on her innate identity.  It is a place made holy by several landmarks such as a tree under which she meditated and a small lake where she she was bitten by a snake.  These landmarks still exist today and are preserved by local devotees.
